Three runners participate in the Self-Transcendence 2 mile Tjarnarhlaup race, despite a thick chilling fog, Reykjavík, Tuesday, February 22
The members of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team Iceland were determined that they wouldn't let the near-cancellation of last week's race happen again, and so three runners showed up for the Self-Transcendence 2 mile Tjarnarhlaup race last Tuesday, February 22.
The runners weren't stopped by the thick and chilling fog, for, after all, what is fog to such men that are wont to run in ice and snow (and they have never complained!)?
The determination of the runners was quickly transformed into eagerness, but a manifestation of that eagerness could be clearly seen in Upajukta's incredibly fast finish which, literally, ended with a leap.
This leap enabled Upajukta to catch up with Ágúst at the time of 15:11.
Both Upajukta and Ágúst were running at their best time this year. Upajukta made an improvement of 43 seconds from the race of January 25 and Ágúst improved on his time from February 1 by 27 seconds. Interestingly, both runners had not run at a faster time since October 12.
Andrés was, as usual, in a category of his own, finishing only 5 seconds away from his best time so far this year (January 18).
