Icelandic version

Only one week after his epic victory in the Jökulsá Race, Snatak Matthíasson reaffirmed his top position within the Icelandic Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team with a confident victory in the Self-transcendence 2 mile Tjarnarhlaup race last Tuesday, August 10.

Snatak ran at a time of 10:47 and was three and a half minute ahead of second-place Upajukta Ágústsson.

Because of the superb running weather, sunny and still, the runners were inspired to give their all in the race.

While the runners may have been tired upon reaching the goal, they were soon refreshed by the post-race fruit-feast, which has been an integral part of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team races from the beginning.

The Self-transcendence Tjarnarhlaup race is, as mentioned before, 2 miles (3,2 km) and consists of two loops around Tjörnin, the pond which is located by the City Hall in downtown Reykjavík.  This is both a flat and a beautiful course.  This race was the first 2 mile race that we have held for some time, but the next race will be held on Tuesday August 17 at 18:30 and begins by the City Hall.  After that there will be a break in the races until September.  All news about upcoming races will be posted on this web.
