After a break of over one and a half months, the Self-Transcendence 2 mile Tjarnarhlaup races recommenced last Tuesday, January 18
As the readers of this site know best, the Self-Transcendence 2 mile Tjarnarhlaup races have been enjoying a long Christmas vacation, the last race having been run on November 30.
It was, therefore, with much enthusiasm that the races recommenced last Tuesday, January 18.
Three runners took part in this first race of the new year. Understandably, no records were set this time, due to adverse conditions; snow, slippery surfaces, an unhealthy Christmas diet etc. The runners are undeterred, however, and Rúnar Páll hinted that he was not going to stand down during these bitterest months of winter, but would try his utmost to improve on his personal best! After all, it is Sri Chinmoy's philosophy that one should never give up.
