Eight runners from the Icelandic marathon team ran a 2 mile race in New York

Saturday, August 21, the international Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team held a 2 mile self-transcendence fun run in New York. Eight runners from the Icelandic Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team, who were practicing for the Self-transcendence Marathon on August 25, participated in the 2 mile race as part of their preparation.
These runners were: Snatak Matthíasson, Upajukta Ágústsson, Ganagane Stefánsson, Davíð Sigurgeirsson, Andrés Ramón, Víðir Sigurgeirsson, Pujarini Jónsdóttir and Steinunn Torfadóttir.
Results of the race are not published, as this was first and foremost a fun run. However, prizes were given to the first three, both in men’s and women’s categories, although the Icelandic runners were not successful this time.
